Our Objectives
- To distribute basic hygiene commodities and health care commodities to women with particular focus to queer women
- To lobby and advocate for quality of life for LGBTIQ+ people in Swaziland with a particular interest for queer women
- To assist with the access to psychosocial support and referrals (for abused queer women and members of the LGBTIQ+ community seeking any other psychosocial support)
- To create accessibility of basic commodities for women in sport
- To do any other business that may be necessary and incidental to the above-mentioned objectives
Our Vision
To promote wellbeing and dignity amongst young girls, (queer) women and the LGBTIQ+ community in Swaziland, and ensuring access to basic health care.
Siyavelana aims to meet the specific material needs of queer people in Swaziland to live in dignity which is often overlooked under current donor funding model
Services
WHAT WE DO?
Donation of menstrual health commodities
Donation of menstrual health commodities to young girls and the LGBTIQ+ community in Swaziland (we receive donations from people in the community either financial or pads, and these are then distributed to young girls and the LGBTIQ+ community)
Donations of clothes
Donations of clothes to those in need (we collect old clothes around the country and donate them to those who need). We also collect shoes and blankets to distribute to those who need
We offer referrals for psychosocial support
We offer referrals for psychosocial support for the LGBTIQ+ community
We promote mental health and wellbeing
We promote mental health and wellbeing with initiatives such as blood donation, participation in sports and referrals for counselling and psychosocial support
Conduct research and needs assessments
Conduct research and needs assessments of the LGBTIQ+ community
Promote education and continuous learning
Promote education and continuous learning by providing resources on SOGI, menstrual health and hygiene
Support for LGBTIQ+ persons
• Support for LGBTIQ+ persons that have been affected by the political unrest and COVID-19

Currently the organization has 3 directors who are managed the start-up, registration of organization as an NGO and provide oversight of day to day running with the support of volunteers.
